A visit to the Historic Triangle makes one think of a colonial setting including beds surrounded by curtains and covered with a canopy. The Legacy of Williamsburg is a bed and breakfast with three suites that offer that colonial touch. Right in Williamsburg, it's centrally located for your activities and a AAA Three-Star destination.

The Legacy may make you think you've stepped back in time a century or two with its time worn details such a floors that creak, doors that are uneven at the top, pretty trim moldings and inlaid brick floors and fireplaces make of traditional brick, but it was built in the 1970s and given those details. The brick for the fireplaces was manufactured in Colonial Williamsburg. At the Legacy, you have the sense of an old inn but all of the modern amenities like air conditioning and television.

Three large suites and a standard room add up to four guest rooms and this small size gives the inn a personal touch. There are several public places for you to spend time in during your stay.

The Library and Reception have a fireplace and books where you can sit and read on the sofa. The Tavern  And the Keeping Room is where they serve breakfast and also  where you will find hot beverages and sweets offered throughout the day.

Owners Art and Joan Ricker  built and operated The North Fork Mountain Inn located in the mountains of West Virginia before moving back to Virginia and buying this inn in Williamsburg, a favorite destination of theirs, five years ago. Joan prepares the breakfasts that earn rave reviews from her guests. Breakfast itself might be the popular spice pancakes with fresh lemon sauce or eggs benedict but, no matter what the main course, Joan always follows it with a dessert such as carrot cake, streusel coffee cake or lemon cream tart. If you'd like another sweet treat later in the day, you may just find homemade cookies waiting for you.
